Rabbits in First Opinion Practice
Held on the 24th February 2023, this course, presented by Dr Sonya Miles, an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine and lead clinician for Highcroft Exotic Vets, an RWAF Gold accredited practice, provided a day of CPD that was perfect for general practitioners and nurses wanting to improve their knowledge of rabbits in first opinion practice. Specifics on consultation style, anaesthesia and analgesia, rabbit dentistry, and common conditions in this species was discussed.

The Approach to Exotic Pets for General Practitioner
Held on the 26th May 2023 and presented by Dr Sonya Miles, an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine, WAVMA Certified Aquatic Species Veterinarian, and lead clinician for Highcroft Exotic Vets. The course covered specifics in exotic mammal, avian, and reptile consultations, as well as specifics on common conditions in exotic mammals, parrots and reptiles.

Anaesthesia and Analgesia in Exotics
Held on the 25th August 2023 and presented by Dr Sonya Miles, an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Zoological Medicine, WAVMA Certified Aquatic Species Veterinarian, and lead clinician for Highcroft Exotic Vets. The course dispelled many myths associated with anaesthetising a wide variety of exotic species, including fish and amphibians, whilst simultaneously providing the vets and nurses with the skills to undertake these often challenging and comparatively high-risk anaesthetics. Techniques, protocols, potential drug options and combinations as well as blood sampling and hospitalisation techniques, in a wide variety of exotic species were discussed in length.
